Traveling to Spain tonight. Adding the Duero to my bucket list. Better after being open over night.

2012. Great with paella. Dark Garnet. Dark red fruits with structured tannics so might age well and improve over time. Good full flavor. Not a long finish. If I could find this I would buy it again.

Just not enough "oh yes this is Spanish" character to me. Maybe some dill and coconut to start, but then it was gone, and it could have been from anywhere.

A disjointed, but enjoyable Spanish wine for the price. On the nose, cherries, earth, and spice with a hint of heat. Aggressively Oaked on the nose (licorice, baking spices, etc). Medium tannins, and the palate borders on overripe fruit with high concentration, but it has a long, spicy finish that gets too hot. The wine is all over the place, but has enough savory components to balance the fruit.
