The absolute top of what Sangiovese in Montalcino can produce together with Soldera. Pure delineated red fruit with the searing fine tannins at the back palate. It will keep for some much longer and will be interesting to taste with softer tannins. But absolutely great now.

Brunello on steroids. Beautiful red fruit perfectly in balance, smooth but ending with a tang. The tannins dry out your mouth completely. Will be sensational in 5 to 7 years.

Soldera ‘16 vs Marroneto MDG ‘16. 5 miles and worlds apart. The MDG shows masculine aromas of dark, flowers, allspice and smoky incense. Muscular with firm tannins that grip and don't let go, although not hard-edged. Young and very mineral yet the finish lingers and reveals extremely high potential beyond the fantastic wine it is today. What a discovery.
