Exuberant nose of roses, lavender, herbs, mid season cherries and an apothecary vibe. Gorgeous. Palate is very juicy with wonderful cherry fruit and classic burly vespolina tannins. Medium bodied and a nice substantial structure. Sappy and super pure. Wonderful. Lasting. Acid, freshness and energy on point.

Aug 24th, 2019Il Chiosso 16 Vespolina - sick nose. Violets, florals galore, pastille, lavender, red dark cherries, minerals, spice. Juicy and elegant with cranberry fruit and dark cherries and lively rustic charm.
UPDATE : significant improvement overnight. More put together and tamer. Lovely wine. Juicy. Went from 8.9 to 9.0
Il Chiosso 16 Vespolina - sick nose. Violets, florals galore, pastille, lavender, red dark cherries, minerals, spice. Juicy and elegant with cranberry fruit and dark cherries and lively rustic charm.

Nose was very expressive going into the decanter, under-ripe tart cherry, raspberry juice, rose.
Palate has Bing cherry, plum, flowers and a nice bite of acidity.
The bottle is generally a little tight, likely we'll do single glasses tonight and revisit tomorrow.
100% Vespolina aged in concrete, no wood influence.
24hr Update: Palate is just slammin bright cherry, like this is a totally different wine.
