Idlewild
Fox Hill Vineyard Dolcetto
The meat of black olives, minus the salinity. Still very young and grippy with tannins. Such a beauty - hope we can hold off opening our other bottle and see where it goes in a few years.

Nov 16th, 2016Has gotten richer with some age. Still quite grippy. Good acidity. Not terribly complex but tasty. Paired nicely with pizza.

Jul 17th, 2020I was surprised by the amount of tannic grip this had, closing down on the finish. It’s bright, with a burst of fruit and acidity on the front palate. Light bodied as you’d expect.

Aug 4th, 2018Similar to my last bottle: fruit reads a touch darker and richer but bright, refreshing and with tannins that provide pleasant grip on the finish (which reads way more Freudian than I'd like but I'm too tired to revise it).

Jul 21st, 2018Big tannin punch tempered by black fruit and cedar. Young; it was lovely with cured pork but alone it needs some time to mellow.
