Hourglass
Estate Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
The more I have this SauvBlanc, the more I realize it’s one of my favorites coming out of Napa. Very similar to the ‘16 vintage I had a few months back which was reminiscent of a dialed back Merry Edwards. Lots of fresh cut grass, piercing acidity highlighted by limestone and slate. Tropical stone fruits on the nose. Finish of lemon lime tart and key lime pie. Delicious.

1 person found it helpfulSep 7th, 2018Great SB from Napa! Prior notes apply..this wine has evolved presenting more mineral notes a little less on the fruit! It changes everytime I pick up the glass!
Cheers to all and a special "raise of the glass" to all people working in healthcare at this challenging time!

Almost clear in color...really delicious Sauvignon Blanc!! Lemon .. Lime...honeysuckle...fresh cut grass...guava...fantastic acidity but less of a bite than New Zealand SB! Complexity..pretty great!! Bravo @Anthony Biagi 🥂 !! Alcohol 14.2%...I had to look at that twice...certainly not tasting it!

Mar 24th, 2019Not bad, but kind of a yawner. Pretty watery and uninteresting.

Nov 10th, 2018Silky smooth, citrus, sweet on its own, but balances out when paired with fruit.

Oct 8th, 2018Really nice! Loads of lemon and lime..grapefruit..a bit of honey...wet gravel....fresh cut grass...great acidity! It has been awhile since I have had a SB..not from New Zealand!....For 14.2 alcohol you sure do not notice it!! Loving this on a great Summer evening..watching the hummingbirds fight over my feeders!

Sep 10th, 2018Yeah, so this one was received about 2 days ago, and pretty much immediately consumed after a root canal. Started off only being able to taste this with one half of the tongue, but gradually I was firing on all cylinders, as was this SB! What a nice little post-root canal bottle! This wine poured a light straw color into the glass. The nose was lemongrass and lemon rind. The palate and weight of this wine was quite a bit more substantial. I would say the density is most certainly there. This is a big boy SB. Good glycerine notes throughout, but this is also one that you can enjoy on the back patio. Don't know if this would qualify as a "patio pounder" at all, but is definitely a wine that was a perfect complement after dental procedures. I have two more of these, and will probably consume them rather fast.
