Venture to say this may have been better than the ‘97. This 2000 came out of a magnum and was so complex and in such a great place.

The 1997 opens fast but settles nicely and lingers on the pallet. Might be slightly past its prime, but delicious and savory nonetheless.

stunning stuff out of magnum. hadn't moved from the cellar since the day it was bottled. still a baby, but was the star of the show through 5 courses.

Super duper tight on the nose. The fruit comes across like a distant memory. Very firm tannin and substantial heat on the nose.

Fantastic. Chewy and yet supple. Flavors and complexity intact. Black cherry with a hint of spice. This wine can age forever and it gets better and better.
