Juicy. There's a sense of blackberry/black cherry gum. Black cherry cola, black licorice anise, olallieberry pie, dark moist earth, chocolate cake with fruit & fudge frosting, dark fine minerality, shades of a port like character, liquid violets, crushed rocks, dry pebbles and very large round juicy to dry dark fruit finish. Reminds me of a very dark berry Gamay.

I have to give credit where credit is due! The rarest of combinations, A Paso Lagrein, from a winery in the heart of Napa?! Rarely do you find Italian varietals, grown outside their native land, that can give you depth and character. This one delivers, dark brooding fruit, savouriness, tannic delivery and a great finish. I want some cheese and I want it now! A great effort!

Dark, dark fruits, blue fruits, some spice and earth, savory, purple flowers, long elegant finish. Pair with a nice dry white cheese or wild boar per the staff at Hope and Grace.

100% Lagrein, grapes from Paso. How interesting to see this in a Napa tasting room, and not from Alto-Adige! Plummy yet meaty, with lower acid and higher tannins. Like a Barbera x Dolcetto yet somehow it works! Makes me hanker for some fruit, cheese, and charcuterie.

The smoothness and body of a merlot, but the spice of a Syrah or a Pinot. A fun wine to sip on a Thursday night. I think I'm getting a little anise or fennel on the finish.

I love this wine. Big and bold. Flavors at pooping. Only 15 barrels made so I'm going to go slow and savor it.

Imagine the same acidity and body of a Merlot with tannins a step below Sangiovese. Cool wine!

Never heard of this varietal. Cherries. Not tannic. Easy drink
