Hook or Crook Cellars
Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon
Ruby in color with medium intensity and a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, black cherries, sweet raspberries, light wood, spices and dark chocolates.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with black currants, blackberries, oak, licorice, chocolates, light tobacco, herbs, spices, earth and peppercorn.
Short finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice everyday Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi, California.
Easy drinking and good for parties.
Good by itself or with food and good right out of the bottle.
I paired it with grilled lamb chops.
Aged in oak barrels for 14 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
$12.

Feb 17th, 2020Unusual representation for a Lodi wine. Lighter bodied, nice minerals, acidity, and fruit! Showing plum, boysenberry, licorice Snaps, hibiscus, milk chocolate, eucalyptus on the midpalate, and pine needles on the finish. This wine reminds me of a Lorie Valley Chinon. A lot going on in this glass, considering...rating reflects QPR; this was under $10! One hour+ decant.

Aug 24th, 2023👌👌 Surprisingly good for a cheap wine. Opened for cooking and ended up drinking it. Young wine. Little harsh. Not incredible, but I was pleasantly surprised how it shaped up after letting it breathe.

Sep 25th, 2022Better than our other Costco value attempts. Not stellar, but better than its price!
