Home Hill
Kelly's Reserve Tasmania Pinot Noir
Aromatic notes of rose and violet. Great depth of delicious flavour on the medium bodied palate. Red fruits - savoury and rich. See previous note for the 2014 - always excellent but 8 years of cellaring has enhanced this wine. To have won the Jimmy Watson Trophy for the Best One Year Old Dry Red at Royal Melbourne and still starring now at 8 years of age shows this is a wine for all seasons and all years. Should be a regular purchase. A Winner.

Aug 14th, 2022Home Hill has become a rising star on the Australian Wine Show scene for the quality of their cool climate Pinot Noir. This wine had aromas of cherry and a little stemmy character. The palate was sweet with plums and black cherry. Very fluid and supple tannins - seamless. Medium weight palate and drinking well now. HH has a drinking window of 2017 to 2029. Cannot see it myself. My remaining 2 bottles will be gone in the next few years - just too delicious. Winner of the 2015 Jimmy Watson Trophy for the Best One Year old Dry Red at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show. From the most southerly vineyard in Australia.

May 7th, 2021Youthful Ruby colour. Cherry City on nose and palate in the riper spectrum. A little latent and needs more cellaring to show its full potential. I just needed to see why the Judges awarded the Jimmy Watson Trophy for Best One Year old Dry Red at last years Royal Melbourne. Medium bodied with savoury fine supple tannins with excellent length as you would expect with a JW Winner. Having lunch here at the winery on the 30th Dec with the family.

Dec 5th, 2016Pronounced nose - leaps from the glass with Indian spice, violet floral notes, oak and red fruit. Almost showy, but the fruit generosity on the palate is matched by spice and woodsy complexity; length and balance impressive.
