Hoddles Creek Estate
1er Yarra Valley Pinot Noir
Still very good. Nice and tight. Primary fruit starting to fade and evolve. Delicious!

Aug 17th, 2024Stunning 1er Hoddles Pinot Noir. In a really good spot right now. So open, opulent and full throttle Pinot.

Nov 7th, 2023Love it. Maybe a longer decant next time. Raspberry fruited, savoury with silty tannin, complex with lots going on (more than I can describe)

Oct 15th, 2016Great minerality, keeps the strawberry/cherry flavours nicely balanced.

Feb 28th, 2016First taste of the 1er after having collected a few different vintages over the years, along with consuming plenty of their bargain priced Hoddles Creek Estate pinot noir. It’s a cracker. Drinking gorgeously now, having had a few years to integrate. Was having too much fun wolfing down tasty pizza with friends to make detailed notes, but it was certainly a pleasure to drink.

Sep 16th, 2023Frame, acid, length. It had mostly everything in the right place. Raspberry, cherry, strawberry but not sweet and confectionary. Mostly dried fruit and the tannin and acid structure runs persistently through the whole wine. Great length. Will live as long as any Yarra Pinot I have seen. How is this a $50 Pinot? Well worth an extra $30+. Extreme value but no X-Factor that has me too excited. A solid 95+ points because it has a very long life ahead of it.

Feb 4th, 2015This rocks the casbah big time. Tightly coiled red and black fruits. Expansive tannin profile.

Jan 24th, 2015Typical Yarra from the get go, nose gives it away. Cherry, Raspberry and strawberry the main focus. Soft, easy drinking. Purity of fruit. Freshness. Touch of spice. Great integrated tannins, I didn't notice much Oak. Flavours carry on.. Very young, but approachable now. 93+ points.
