This is amazing. Great nose of cherries, sea spray in redwoods, and orange peel. Almost reminds me of an old fashioned without the burning of the nose. Palate is everything I ever want in a wine. Dominated by beautiful light, fresh fruits like strawberry, plum, cherry, then there is a meat quality with the forest notes coming in more during the late palate. Lingering redwood and cherry jolly rancher that keeps me coming back! So good. (Also zero smoke influence)

What a wine. There’s an underlying forest floor umami component throughout, but overall cranberries, cherries, violets, good tannin. I keep coming back to different flowers and herbs. Seems to taste different with every other sip. I think this needs a few more years in bottle to completely integrate. Addendum: day two it’s exceptional. Much more integrated but the herbal qualities and dark fruit go so well with spiced pork and greens. Hope I can save the other bottle of this for a few years.

Absolutely stunning! Transcendent bottle that started wild and evolved over an hour. Opened up beautifully to a very Morey-St-Denis like cuvée. Crisp ruby color. Low viscosity and light bodied. Red cherries, raspberries, wild strawberries, wet forest floor and spicy aromas. My guess is there is some whole cluster fermentation here. Gorgeous nose. Tannic backbone. Medium high acidity. Fluttery mouthfeel. Complex wine that’s beautifully integrated. Extremely long acidic finish. Possibly one of the better and most interesting Oregon Pinots. Interesting to note this is a 15% Pinot Gris blend. Biodynamically farmed on a vineyard with a southern facing slope along side Hood river. No additives, nothing removed..naturally made. And of course Nate’s a legend!! Day 1. Will update for day 2..can’t wait to see this cuvée continue to evolve! It was hard to stop myself and it would be so easy to quaff the whole bottle in a few hours :)

Same notes as before. It's hard to imagine how these wines seem to capture the essence/freshness of fruit just picked off the vine... But knowing the berries have been crushed somewhere, sat in a fermentation tank, pressed for juice, aged in barrel and then bottle, and of course moved around between each of these processes, all with no sulfur treatment. What a feat!

Similar notes to the last 2017 I had. Earthy, crunchy cherries and spicy. Much better than the 2019, which likely means I need to hold the 19s.
