This was firing on all cylinders tonight - I couldn’t have asked for a better presentation. Ever since a random guy sitting next to me at the bar at Pax Americana here in Houston shared this with me I’ve searched and searched for it to buy retail; 2-3 years of searching yielded no results. That is until my wife & I took a trip to Fredericksburg (TX) and stumbled upon a stash of it at Vaudeville. I bought 3 bottles and, after learning tonight how the ‘08 is showing, I wish I had bought the entire stash. Mocha, chewed cigar, eucalyptus, and brooding dark berries. This wine has not only aged gracefully but it’s retained its structure remarkably. Drinking at its peak with many more miles to go yet.

Heavy but smooth. Black cherry, currant, tobacco and black pepper. Not a fruit bomb. Medium high tannins. Enjoyable throughout dinner
