Mavrodaphne
Top Notes For
Sipping Fine Wine

Mavrodaphne is one of Greece’s sweet dessert wines, resembling a port. Produced in the Achaia region, has aromas of baked fruits, nutty spice with sweet caramel notes. On the palate flavors butterscotch and praline with vanilla honey and cinnamon. Not overly complex ending with nutty character.

Was recommended by an employee in Total Wines and SO glad I bought it. Sweet red wine that is perfect at room temp or chilled. Says on the bottle it is "considered to be one of Greece's most famous wines"- and I can see why. Full-bodied yet delicate dessert wine with a deep red color. Great with strawberry cheesecake or just sipping by itself. Definitely buy again!
