Stunning. So fresh and bright and concentrated without being overripe. Surprisingly deep color for a Grenache. Red flowers and cherry on the nose Same on the palate with baking spices and toffee on the long finish. Complex and special. Russell is rightfully known for his Syrahs but the Grenaches are in the same league.

A dense purple, the '11 Herman Story Grenache 'On The Road' is one of my guilty pleasures. This fruit forward bomb throws intense aromas of spicy wild berries, plum, licorice and asphalt. The jammy, creamy palate is pure, rich and remarkably balanced for a 15.9% bruiser. The sweet tannins round out the lengthy, silky finish.
