I believe this is my first time with a Henschke white. Intense citrusy nose along with florals and undertones of petro (nothing even close to a Grosset). A very zesty palate of some orchard fruit and plenty of acid. A moderate finish that I expect will extend once things better integrate. I assume like many Australian rieslings this will age , Is that a valid statement @Bob McDonald ?

At the Henschke weekend at Spicers. Interestingly Stephen and Pru spent 2 years in Germany so they would know a thing or two about Riesling. Eden Valley is one of Australia’s premium Riesling districts. This shows traditional Eden lime characteristics (as compared to Clare Valley lemon characters said the Somm - I agree). Good palate intensity and acidity.

It has nice white florals on the nose. Lean citrus, citrus blossoms in a dry but simple style.

#sample: So tell me, where can I find pearl meat?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m dying to try this Henschke family favourite sautéed pearl meat recipe 👩‍🍳! The dish was created by Anthony Lui, Executive Chef at The Flower Drum in Melbourne. And you guessed it, this Peggy’s Hill 2016 Eden Valley recipe is the perfect match!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My tasting note 📝: It’s a mighty delicious looking yellow shade in the glass (damn right yellow can be delicious - especially when it’s in wine form!). The nose is wonderfully floral and citrus driven which makes me think of lemongrass. In the mouth it’s crisp and dry (just how I like em!) with apple 🍎 and lemon 🍋 notes coming through for me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This bottle comes from the newly released @wineselectors ‘Family Favourites Collection’ which is a case of wine from Australia’s First Families of Wine’s @affw. The case includes each families fave wine and recipe.

To help celebrate I have a 10% discount code you can use storewide at www.wineselectors.com.au - simply spend over $150 and type in promo code ‘TTCS’ at checkout 🍾🍾🍾

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
