Interesting bargain #gamay from a well known producer. This 2016 shows a fair bit of bricking the glass; a day after uncorking shows some nice sour cherry, wet slate notes and a ghost of mace spice on the nose. Palate is less impressive with some raisiny notes along with expected tart cherry, suggesting a gentle decline past maturity, but still a solid QPR wine for ~$14 at Costco. Decant with patience for your best experience.

Rich yet somewhat bright and dry. Nose and first taste are a little sweet with dark fruit, then the spice, minerality and lighter red fruits come through with a dry finish
