Nov 13th, 2024Austrian Chard from slate & limestone. So so full, creamy, & crackling in energy; waxed yellow fruit, yellow popsicle, & butternut squash notes. 7 months aged on lees & it shows. Draw dropping. ‘Natural’ winemaking couple, which I feel is almost a distracting term for such a profound, delicious & even a bit classically styled wine. At about 20$ on sale give me breathing salts.

Obvious Pinot in the nose , with a slight funkiness in the background. Cherries and a Lille more funk . A biodynamic Austrian Pinot . Interesting

Feb 26th, 2022Reductive, puristic, smoky and herby - already from the start. On the palate this shows brilliant balance between the vibrant, juicy acidity and golden delicious, ripe pear & melon and shy oak.
Yet behind all this there is this rough, smoky, mineral, wild edge that makes this really interesting and ask for a second glass. Better than the 2013 and drinking very nicely right now.
