Côtes du Roussillon Villages Grenache Blend

Chalky, overtly spicy, moderate tannin, a bit wonky in the finish but everything surrounding it is likeable and direct.

From one of the Languedoc-Roussillon's most exciting young négociants, Hecht & Bannier's Côtes du Roussillon Villages demonstrates excellent varietal character - a classic, rustic expression of Grenache from this corner of the Med. Flavors of almond dust, warm plums, licorice, raspberry and blanched sweet herbs expand to a rather girthy mid-palate, nuanced by a subtle minerality and animale character that informs the finish. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Lledoner Pelut.

Drank then 2013. Purchased at Specs in Houston. Really nice every day wine.

Velvety black cherries and dank ginger bread. Gorgeous.

Sunday funday with awesome neighbors! Dark and fruity.

A dark fruit bomb on the front that mellows nicely into a beautiful finish. I'd like to see what this does with a bit of age.
