RW Red Winery Vineyard Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This has really come into its own.

Delicious pairing with filet mignon with blueberry balsamic sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. Bold flavors, nice balanced tannins. Mild acidity with a pleasant finish. And the color! So rich and gem-like.

Grew on me. Black cherries

Smooooooth. Single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

My last one of this vineyard and vintage and although my preference is to have 10 years from vintage for these, I couldn’t resist. Really nice dark berries and cherries are complemented by aromas of leather and aromatic wood. Bold tannins but smooth on the mid-palate and finish.

Nice layers of cherries, firm tannins and great texture. Needs a good decant first.

Brown sugar, plum, currant and licorice. Very nicely integrated oak.

Nice Cabernet. Paired well with a steak artichoke and potato.

60 years birthday

Understated fruit by California standards. Could pass for Left Bank. A little hot. Cherries, currants, leather, tobacco.
