This was not very aromatic when I opened it. It had mild aromas of dry earth and a spice of some sort which I am not good enough to identify. It is a medium bodied wine that had more flavor than I expected from the nose. Lot of spice and fruit. Turned out to be a pretty good drink from down under. However not in the same league as @arnycacellars or @crockerandstarr my favorites
