Tasted the '15. Pours pineapple in color. ON THE NOSE: rope melon, green apple, butter. ON THE PALATE: toasted oak, vanilla, ripe apple. Full body medium (+) finish.

Love this chardonnay. This definitely has a buttery finish. Don't be turned off by the smell of urine when it initially gets poured. I would bring this to a dinner party.

Harken 2015 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay (SRP $15): This budget-friendly wine will surely appeal to those who prefer some richness and barrel character in their Chardonnay. It leads with inviting aromas of pineapple tart, spiced pear, holiday spices, and vanilla cream against a backdrop of sweet buttered toast. The aromas extend to the palate where flavors glide across a slightly rich texture with balanced acidity providing good lift. There’s a generous dash of baking spice in the medium-long finish. A friend of mine, who regularly drinks this Chardonnay, says it’s a great bottle for movie nights at home with a big bowl of popcorn.
