2018 was an outstanding vintage for both whites and reds in WA’s Margaret River which is why the recent release of Happs ‘Three Hills’ wine range has been much anticipated.

Three Hills is a range of wines made from alternate grape varieties. Only the very best fruit goes into this top tier range.

We recently cracked this Happs Three Hills 2018 Sangiovese sample we received (thank you!!).

🍇 Only 70 dozen cases made

🍇 RRP $38

🍇 Hand picked

🍇 9 days on skins & hand plunged

🍇 Aged in 1-year old French oak barriques on lees for 9 months

Here are our notes on it:

It’s a wonderful red-y purple colour in the eye. While on the nose it makes me think of berry jam, a bit of spice, tobacco, cocoa and pomegranate acidity. In the mouth it’s fresh, vibrant, juicy and bursting with fruit (think cherries 🍒 and berries). There’s also a savoury olive note in there too. Extremely drinkable 👌

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
