Jun 11th, 2021This pleases me and five of my friends, and they have varying tastes! There is no sweetness but a ripeness that makes for happy times and an acid to enliven the unsuspecting without them realizing it. I dig. I love. I want more bocksbeutels.

May 27th, 2018Pale lemon in color with a yellow tint.
On the nose, citrus, lemons, light grapefruits, green apples, white pepper, minerals, spices, herbs and green vegetables.
Light bodied with medium plus acidity, crisp and refreshing.
Dry on the palate with limes, grapefruits, citrus, sea salt, white pepper, minerals, spices, green vegetables, green apples and bitter herbs.
Short finish with bitter almonds and spices.
An interesting Silvaner from Germany. Not fully balanced with crisp acidity and a bitter ending.
This 6 year old is a little flat tasting now, but does not have a racing acidity either. This is a good food wine.
I paired it with a cheese plate of soft cheeses, spicy jams and crackers.
12% alcohol by volume.
83 points.
$15.

A lot Grüner sensibilities here with loads of savory notes. Some slightly off-putting "shower curtain" notes faded quickly. Or perhaps I just faded quickly...
