Parcel 22 California Pinot Noir

Good, smooth and a little tart. Almost deceptively smooth, has very little/no taste at first.

This is from Miller and Carter steakhouse and is apparently their house wine, as the waitress who served us last time felt the need to patronisingly point out...! Anyway, loved it, I'm loving so many South American reds at the moment and so we had a bottle when we went back this weekend. Very good wine for what is an okay price for a restaurant (£20). Can't give it full marks because of that price, even though that is the restaurant's markup.

This is one of my favorite low-budget light Pinots. Fruity and a bit oaky....but very light! The red I reach for when the pairing should be white but I just want red!

Don't let the light color fool you. This Pinot can hang with the rest of them...it's light but not too acidic. Sipped it while I cooked dinner for the family, snacking on cheese and meatballs....mmmm.

Great smooth Pinot!
