Happy #InternationalChardonnayDay everyone. Second wine after the Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a delicious bottling from South Africa made by Hamilton Russel Vineyards. Medium pale yellow. Rich and layered nose with notes of honeysuckle, peaches, pineapple and light spices. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Crisp lemon zest on the palate with granny smith apples, stone fruits and white flowers. Long finish. Drink till 2022.

When old met new and married! Lovely, so tropical fresh new world style fruit w/ dat old world body. Sexy, mouthwatering front, with a bone dry under layer that takes you straight to France. Light pineapple with white green honeydew finish with a touch of butterscotch. I'm really impressed by this South African.

Disaoppointing. I hope my bottle was just a bit off. Lacked color or depth, minimal nose.

Burroso, questa è la prima cosa che si sente, prima degli agrumi che accompagnano gentilmente la bocca. Uno chardonnay nato al caldo ma che mantiene un buon equilibrio e una giusta mineralità che lo equilibra.

2013 vintage. Definite Chard nose, but much more unripe mid-palate fruit vs. a typical New World Chard. Lanolin followed by screechingly high acid drop with phenolic elements make this mega-mineral. Bone dry. Quality wine, just not my cup of tea for a drinking Chard. Pair with citrus-driven sushi.
