Light red brick color; nose has the expected red small berries, baking spices, and a hint of whiskey barrel all in a restrained format; taste is amazing with very (very) high acid levels and rigid structure but still with fine silky tannins, a powerful midpalate and a long finish that again shows hits of whiskey notes. Oddly, alcohol content is listed as 13%. Most interesting PN in a long while. Would be nice to try in 5-10 years.

Nov 3rd, 2017This Mendocino Pinot has some new barrel notes on the nose but mostly small red berries, christmas spices, and dark chocolate — most. of which carry through to the taste and finish. Tannins are fine and the structure mild. Great sipping with hummous, vegetables, and spanish hard cheeses.
