Made from Monterey County fruit according to the website, barrel-fermented and aged in French Oak (60% new). Rather attractive nose of black cherries, cassis and slightly dominating oak. Juicy black fruits in the mouth with obvious but well-integrated oak. Good California value at about 20 euro. At first it seemed a little too oaky, but it evolves well in the glass so take your time or decant.
