Really interesting California Riesling with Loire-Esque texture and minerality. Tons of juicy ripe tropical fruit, like a canned pineapple cocktail. Pretty outrageous wooly texture and limestone salinity and minerality. It’s sorta lacking acidity to fully bind it together and counter the sickly sweet tropical fruit, but it’s definitely a fun wine made from great old-vine fruit.

Last bottle of my 2015's for this take on Wirz. A little skin contact brings out a unique melted wax quality, with salty bitter walnut on the finish. Evolved but youthful? Brassy but definitely not orange wine. Awesomely quirky.

Well judged skin contact that seems to suggest bottle age, in a good way to be clear. This could be a well cellared 10 year old Rheingau trocken, with a hint of tannin. Copped more, no doubt. β›½πŸ‹πŸ”‹βš‘

This riesling has always been an adventurous bottling from an awesome, improbable old vineyard. Skin fermenting gives it a rich, slightly phenolic counterpoint to the lovely fresh fruit. Limestone, nice acidity and a hint of petrol on the finish bring it home. Very much riesling, very much something entirely different. 🍍🍊πŸ₯œπŸ€€

Skin contact Riesling. Rich plush texture perhaps from a bit of age. Distinct and tasty.

Dry and low alcohol without feeling at all lean or enamel-stripping. Great varietal character with a salty, savory finish. Awesome juice!

Bone dry, crisp and full flavored. Reminiscent of a dry Alsatian.
