Gut Oggau
Joschuari Rot Blaufränkisch
From 80 year old Blaufrankisch vines in Austria. By the glass. Dusty red fruit aromas with touches of barnyard and pepper. Just medium bodied with with spicy red fruit on the palate and medium minus dry Tannins. A glass went well with Confit of Duck at Spring Restaurant in London where the chef is Australia’s Skye Gyngell. Highly recommended if you are near Somerset House near the Strand London.

Jul 31st, 2019Austria case #9: the bottle says 2014 and the cork says 2015.... so..? Red fruit, acid driven. Quite tart but not giving much at first—did open up with time. No sulfur and unfiltered but totally clean. Certainly intriguing.

Apr 11th, 2020Luxardo cherries up front with a definite earthiness. Very dry and sandy finish. On the bolder side. Had with a steak dinner and it paired beautifully.
