Gut Oggau
Atanasius, Joschuari and Bertholdi Rot Zweigelt Blaufränkisch
A difficult year in Austria, but some beautiful wines nonetheless. On the left, a blend of Blaufrankisch and Zweigelt. Quite soulful. On the right, a blend of Welschriesling, gewurtztraminer, Gruner Veltliner and Pinot Blanc. Both delicious.

Aug 7th, 2020Really amazing for a tough year. Feels like carbonic (though actually not?) Zesty, fruity, but seems to oxidize quickly.

Dec 8th, 2017This is simply the Rot/Red. Lengthy Delectable name due to the three normal separate bottlings being blended together for 2016 based on small yields due to hail, frost and other factors. The reds from Gut Oggau seemed a bit ripe and less compelling than the white and Rosé. The ripe flavors were a bit of a surprise given the labeled 12.5% ABV.
