The slightly dried red fruit had a perfect patina of vanilla. The tannins started dusty and then just melted to provide a deliciously viscous finish that went on and on...

Cloudy red coloration in the glass. Nose is a bit restrained but evolved over time from smoky, little bit spicy red fruit to cocoa powder accented red licorice. The acidity on the palate was amazing for a 30-year-old wine, and beautifully balanced with the tannins. The dried red fruit was accompanied by orange peel secondaries. Great wine.
