Rheinhessen Trocken Riesling

Crikey, this is a lot of wine for the money – but then again, it has pretty good pedigree! Gunderloch’s Nierstein Riesling Trocken is a blend of the winery’s holdings in the Rothenberg, Pettenthal and Hipping vineyards in Nierstein, Rheinhessen. The nose is extraordinarily good – hugely pungent, mineral and extroverted, and as fresh as a sea breeze. The palate packs a generously salty, limey punch, with great length. Make no mistake, this is a wine that wants to accompany food, and bold food at that. Hugely impressive. What a treat – especially on a Wednesday!

Peach garden hose, fresh and acidic with some roundness—great pour at $17

Racy, mineral, candied nose of peach rings, crumbled rock, lime and smoke. Dry lengthy acid, lean and focused.

NiCe value, hints of floral notes and surprising texture

Balanced and enjoyable, but nothing too exciting.

Nariz: limon, manzana, pera, piedra, albaricoque, flores

Boca: Seco, Acidez M+, Alcohol M. Notable mineralidad en boca.

Ok; too dry.

Not kidding on the Trocken part. Very dry with good acidity. Stony.
