K' Sa Tête Vin de France Pineau d'Aunis
Been a while since a red wine struck me like this. Made me think in a certain way. It's not a fancy wine, not powerful, not opulent or showy or "wow..." but what it is is fucking delicious. And it is complex. And different. And it has depth. It is all those things yet light as a feather, drinkable, which of course prevents it from being taken seriously, since we all know that "no pain, no gain," as the rule pertains to wine, or "bigger is better." My preference is for balanced wine, some fruit, some earth, some mineral, not too heavy or hot, a sense of surprise, and a beginning, middle, and end. This country wine does it beautifully.

Apr 6th, 2017Never had much love for this varietal, always reminded me of oxidized carrot juice, but this is starting to look like something, I imagine that some peps have started realizing the potential, it's elegant/light/alive, quite a solid example.

Aug 19th, 2016Peppery and cherry. Old Loire grape Pineau D'aunis. Lovely. Pinot like but no tannin but medium weight. Not showy but like Loire whites great with food cause of the acidity. Tasted In 7/14 wine group

Jul 13th, 2014LOVE. Loire might be my favourite French region.
Some green pepper on the nose. Dangerously drinkable. Food friendly. Went well with spiced ground beef and rice, but this red would be a good companion for red or white meat, Indian dishes, or on its own.
