100% Dolcetto, 13.5% abv, 341 case production.
At first super briary and leather belt lashings reign supreme on both the nose and palate. Later on, as the wine opened up to me, it whispered tellings of a time where rhubarb cobbler and tart cherries fought for a plum's honor with light body armor and a sense of chivalry not seen in centuries past.

2016 dolcetto from a small producer.

Lavender or violet hues on the rim give this wine a luminescent quality, the nose gives it a hell of a waxy, candied red fruit bent, think cherry flavored cough syrup. Think red flowers dipped in sugar too.

The palate is unfocused, with higher acid and lower tannins and a short finish. The candied red fruit dominates; this tastes like a red candied apple looks. Just an explosion of red and then it's gone.
