Nothing to write home about. I'm pleasant if a little simple but a strong value.

Inky in color with a purplish rim.

Nice and fruity on the nose, with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, oak, cloves, bell peppers, licorice, vanilla, leather, chocolates, smoke, bacon, beef jerky and peppercorn.

Full-bodied and elegant, with medium acidity and Long Legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, chocolates, spices, licorice, vanilla, coffee, tobacco, light vegetables, black pepper and Cola.

Long spicy finish with soft tannins and peppercorn.

This is a nice California Petite Syrah. A Good everyday red. Nice by itself or with grilled Meats and BBQ.

Better than the 2013 vintage, and needs 2 hours to open up properly.

This 4 year old, is now Well-balanced and interesting, with nice complexity.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Dark ruby / inky in color with a brick rim.

Intense nose of blackberries, blueberries, figs, espresso, dark chocolate, vanilla, licorice, oak, ripe cherries, light cloves, herbs and black pepper.

Full bodied, smooth and bold with great legs and high acidity.

Bone dry on the palate with blackberries, cherries, plums, strawberries, red currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, coffee, chocolate, spices and peppercorn.

Long finish with soft, round tannins, and cherries.

I had this a year ago. This time it was much smoother and more approachable, but not as fruity. I liked it better last year, though. Still, very enjoyable by itself today, but I better drink the rest of my bottles, in the next few months.
Really needs a couple of hours to open up.

Let it open up for about a half hour to an hour. Wonderful petite sirah.

Opens up after a few. Bold but yielding, kind of like The Princess Bride movie.

Rich nose. But disjointed tannins and fruit.

Not what I'm used to from this wine. A bit acidic and not warm and rich like previous tastings

Average. Which isn't terrible. Minor earth in the nose. Not much else to say. Boring? Better than water?

Update: day 2 I feel more objective. It's not good. Feels fake. There's acid there. Something's just weird.

Iffy flavors, maybe went bad really really marginal. Disappointing from a California petit sirah
