Mike (Miljeenko) Grgich is the guy who put California on the map! It was his Chateau Montelena Chardonnay 1973 that won the 1976 Paris tasting. This is his select varietal from several non disclosed vineyard sites. This amazing cabernet starts with dark currant, blackberry, and a splash of boysenberry. Then comes the thirst quenching chocolate and buttered bread. The finish is so so so buttery smooth and leave a small amount of oak and spice behind. There is a small tart aftertast that just makes you want to grab a glass of water and take another sip!!!!!!!
