A solid, large-framed Zin. Dark, brambly blackberries, together with the telltale sign that they wanted a ripe style: a note of maple syrup. Some crushed sandstony gravel. Full-flavored, ripe dark fruit coats the palate, but it’s fortunately dry (no residual sugar like a lot of Zins these days). Acids on the low side. Tannins soft. At it peak.

Oct 16th, 2022Always good, sporting that note of eucalyptus or mint on the nose. But getting a little full of themselves - $30? Bit high for this zin. Thanksgiving bottle #2.
