Chiles Canyon Vineyards Zinfandel

Grandma Dames tasting 2/1/23. My 6th, group 6th. Very aromatic. Orange peel. Very little fruit. Overworked.

A solid, large-framed Zin. Dark, brambly blackberries, together with the telltale sign that they wanted a ripe style: a note of maple syrup. Some crushed sandstony gravel. Full-flavored, ripe dark fruit coats the palate, but it’s fortunately dry (no residual sugar like a lot of Zins these days). Acids on the low side. Tannins soft. At it peak.

Great Zinfandel at a great price. Bold and smooth.

Solid little wine. Not a brut nor a push over. Fuller side of medium bodied but without extracting a concentrated expression of zin in the jam department. Balanced and nice to have with dinner.

A solid Zinfandel showing its Napa roots, dark fruit and fine tannins. It paired well with spicy Penne Arrabbiata.

Good baked fruit. Slight pepper. Less oak than others.

Lighter, more old school Zin not so overly forced and extracted. Really tasty I am loving the wines from the Chiles Canyon

Green & Red Vineyard - Zinfandel - Napa Valley - 2011 - medium + body and well balanced- Aromas/Flavors: Bell peppers / cherries / spices. Love the character of this wine easy to drink at a reasonable price-

Has a lot of the hallmarks of Zin that you'd expect: baked fruit, white pepper, high alcohol. It's a little too big for my taste, but I enjoyed it as a night-ender.
