Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Best on Day 2. No formal notes. The 2020 Bolgheri Rosso by Grattamacco pours a deep garnet color and is well endowed with ripe red and black fruits, a touch of leather baseball glove, espresso, cigar paper, dried green herbs, and arid earth. The wine is bone dry with imposing structure. The tannins and acid are both squarely in the medium+ category. I really love the approach and style from Grattamacco; these wines are so wonderfully Italian while many other in the Super Tuscan category are so international, it’s often hard to tell where their from. Drink now and through 2030.
