Grand Napa Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2017, California

It's time for a good
x. Here is a great one from Napa Valley.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose with blackberries, black plums, black cherries, cedar, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, light vegetables, dark coffee, spices and black pepper.

Full-bodied, bold and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, cedar, light vegetables, pencil lead, leather, earth, vanilla, licorice, tobacco, herbs, spices and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious, yet young, Cabernet Sauvignon. Drinking very nicely now, although will be better in the next 5 to 10 years.

Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel. As it opens up, more earth notes show up. Nicely balanced, tangy and spicy.

Good right out of the bottle and better after 2 hours of airtime. Easy drinking and interesting. A nice sipping wine by the porch.

I've also had the previous vintage, and it is very consistent.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels (60% new).

14.6% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$110.

Happy National Wine Day!

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.

Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, cola, licorice, tobacco, chocolates, mocha, light vegetables, light earth and coffee.

Full-bodied, bold and big. Rich and extracted with medium plus acidity.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

Still very young and extremely fruit forward. Needs 5 to 10 years of bottle time to relax, but already drinking very nicely. Very chocolatey with lots of coffee notes.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show the complexity. Really comes home after 4 hours of airtime, with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.

A great wine to sip on, and would be great with a nice piece of steak too.
