Dark cherry chocolate color. Nose is cut hard wood, raisins & dried cherries. Flavor is rich. In the mouth you also get a bit of partly dried grape (not quite a raisin, but a grape that is shriveled on the vine). Also has a savory, herbal streak. Plenty of mouth drying tannic kick. A bit like the Primitivo and Nero d’alvola from southern Italy, but more extreme. A fun unique wine to share. People will usually love it or hate it. Not too many say meh.
