Gramercy Cellars
Walla Walla Valley Syrah

This 2018 rendition is a little lighter and crisper than prior vintages I’ve had. Nose is quite bright with red berry fruit and vaguely smoky crushed rock dust. In the mouth it’s medium bodied, has a very soft mouthfeel, and nice, buoyant acids. Ready to drink right now, it’s like a very friendly take on a Saint-Joseph. I prefer the deeper, earthier prior vintages I’ve had, but this is very nice in its own, understated way.

Feb 11th, 2025Not as gamey as a lot of Syrah. Great balance between fruit and earth.

Peppery finish, with silky core of raspberry and black fruit. Solid.

Cassis, fig paste, bacon fat, roasted fennel. Easy to confuse with Cornas.

Not entirely focused and a bit woody on the palate. Dark fruits galore.
