Gramercy Cellars
Lower East Columbia Valley Syrah
13.4% abv.
Fermented 76% whole cluster and aged Predominately in neutral French oak Barrels and puncheons for 17 months.
Deep ruby, slight rim variation. Strawberry gummies, raspberry purée, cranberry jam, black plum, blackberry, and black currant. Hints of meat/game. Fresh herbs such as basil. A healthy dose of violet. Black olives, hints of cloves. Some crushed stone. Medium plus acidity, medium soft and smooth tannins. Medium length. Notes from FLXprovisions: Californian Syrah will show more notes red fruits and lean towards white pepper instead of black. Australian Syrah often is very rich and bold with firmer tannins. Washington state will lean more towards blacker fruits with higher acidity.

Beautifully focused red and black fruit on the nose / herbal: savory and some mint, hay / a little bit more approachable than Rhône. Seriously delicious.

Jul 11th, 2020Nice, medium weight WA state Syrah. Round, ripe, showing a touch of oak. The wine is hard to pin down... rich black fruit, a bit muddled and muddy. Decent QPV wine that doesn’t disappoint or “wow”.
