Gramercy Cellars
Les Collines Vineyard Syrah
Walla Walla Valley, Oregon/Washington, USA
Beautiful cool climate Syrah, poised and with finesse.
Black fruit on the nose with some leather accents, an uplifting flower note and a pinch of black pepper. Fresh, enticing, witht nice purity.
Quite light on the palate, poised, almost delicate. Nice flow & definition here with purity and a bit of depth. The typical Syrah notes come forward more towards the back.
More in the Pinot camp than Chateauneuf & is drinking beautifully right now.

Cranberry, herbally, metallic. Definitely a wine that takes time to open and and time to contemplate!

Bright fruit, fresh with lots of acid. Nice and tasty, but sadly missing the complexity I'd expect.

Mar 13th, 2015Greg Harrington's lovely Syrah. Cooler vintage but showing well--has a soft gamey-ness, thyme, and black fruit. Glad I got to try!
