Gnekow Family Winery Syrah Reserve

Good depth. Blackberry. Long finish. Very good.

Nose of fruit and olives. Fruity olives? Some of that plum and licorice stuff CA Syrah can get. Flavors are silky yet deceptively deep. Hint of mint, tarragon and chamomile tea. A variable fresh herb melange in the mouth. But with mountain berries. Finish is zingy but bitter and lingering. Not the brooding, dark Syrah of the forest floor and thick cut bacon, but interesting wine. Fun to drink and pleasing.
