Drinking wonderfully! Great fruit, balanced with tannin and acidity. Leftover NYE prime rib sandos with this 2006 blew away the dinner the night before with another very well regarded producers 2006. My first vintage at Girard and so proud of how we've held up. Cheers!

What an absolute treat to enjoy. I was told this was the last '06 bottle available when I added it to my wine shipment a while back. 10 years old and this wine is a stunner. Beautiful deep ruby red color with a halo-like lighter ring around the edges. Decanted an hour and a half before trying, and then revisited multiple times over the next hour and a half. The nose is a great bouquet of mixed fruits that don't overwhelm you, and the palate is velvet like tannins that have benefited from the aging. The restraint the fruit shows at 10 years is applause worthy. @Glenn Hugo, thank you for making a wonderful wine. We were all disappointed to see this wine come to an end tonight and wished it would of kept flowing.

Winemaker Glen Hugo said it all when he rated this one on 1-1-16. Four years later it's only better! Matter of fact, it could probably go a few more years
and still be an outstanding wine!
