Lacks the complexity and depth of an Echezeaux. This 2008 was still showing a lot of oak (on 12/26/16) and was very forward. With time, oak was somewhat a little more subtle but still with a touch of toasty coconut. Just felt like the fruit didn't have the structure to absorb the oak. Not for me and I don't see it going anywhere.

2010 vintage. Echezeaux. Medium ruby hue. Touch heady on initially opening. Tightly sprung. Hints of tan leather, mulberry and blackberry bush. Cinnamon and old wood and green decaying leaf. Some complexity starting to show. On the palate, dry, medium plus acidity, plush ripe tannins, medium body, silky mid palate, medium plus alcohol, medium plus concentration of flavour. There's some good length on the finish. Certainly decent. Not a blockbuster and lacks some complexity at this stage of youth. Drink now until 2026.

2008 vintage. Good but not memorable.
