1961 vintage. Conterno Barolo. Wow! A revelation. Pure and still fresh and alive. Red fruit to the fore, floral and perfumed. The truffle notes have seemed to blow off as the wine opens up, replaced by a roast coffee bean aroma. On the palate, great vibrant acidity, medium body and medium plus concentration. A long lingering finish. A wow wine - no way this wine should be this good at this age.
