Riserva Barolo

Gift fruit. Quite intense. Not too complex

Lovely and pure. Cherry and damson. A shriek of acidity at the end of the midpalate. Great fruit. A long way to go

Settled and pretty. Pure and balanced. Still fresh. Good acidity in the spine

Soft fruit. Dried cherry, soft plum. Brightened acidity and hating roses and damson. Some age showing but lovely and bright and precise. Excellent.

Light bright and high toned on the nose. Tension and bright red cherry. Roses and dried flowers. Soulful and pure on the palate with a distinct kick of acidity. Excellent

Dark fig with hints of molasses and some stick and herbal notes. Some tar and dense earthiness. Still good fruit on the palate. Decent

Deeper and more intense. Tar and dark plum. Bramble and iron. Masculine. Good stuff

Soft brown in color. Toasted notes with dried fruit, soft plum, tar and some high toned acidity. A slightly austere palate but a haunting fragrant quality. Very pretty. You need to lean in a bit to see the beauty

Decanted and rebottled by producer in 2006. Still alive and enjoyable at 50, with tertiary characteristics most evident.
