Looking for an old-school claret to accompany roast beef, green beans, and sautéed greens, rooting around in the cellar, bingo! This beautiful wine has the elegance, the zip, the clean crisp pizzazz, with more than enough Cabernet depth and power (how much power do you really need?), this is a case buy to enjoy with many dinners. News flash: wine goes with food! Home run.

Balanced CS that have deep fruit tones, great herbaceous tones, and a great spine of acid with super tight tannins. Pleasure to drink

Grippy with high and tight acid. Crazy, savory stuff. Likely a one-time thing, unfortunately.

Steve Matthiason gives it a 10. Who am I to override him? Stay safe my friends. My sense is sadly this ride...... Won't be short!

Cabernet Sauvignon from the Santa Cruz Mountains with a 13.3% alcohol content. Decanted for an hour. Smelled of musky leather and tasted of unripe cherry and red fruits with acidic tannins. Off putting to say the least. Subsequently after coming back to it 40 or so minutes later, it opened up into a different wine. That olfactory perception of musky leather persists, but the opening taste is a more mature expression of dark/red cherries and raspberries. Second notes are herbaceous, hints of leather and concentrated tannins that are felt along the cheeks. Beware of the decanting time and in my opinion for $65 US there are much better options.
